SFX Catalog — DaVinci Resolve Panel Help
The panel requires DaVinci Resolve Studio. Check the recommendations for your operating system.
Windows
DaVinci Resolve Studio > Workspace > Workflow Integrations > Sound Effects Catalog
- If the panel is missing, check its installation status in SFX Catalog. Close DaVinci Resolve before reinstalling the plugin, then restart DaVinci Resolve Studio.
- If the panel or audio conversion cannot start, check Windows Security and antivirus notifications. Do not disable security protection to bypass a warning. After moving SFX Catalog, reinstall the plugin from its new location to update the audio-conversion path; catalog browsing itself does not depend on that path.
- If audio is unavailable, check that its drive is connected, the file is accessible and the library is listed in SFX Catalog.
- For import, check that a project is open in DaVinci Resolve Studio. For conversion, check that the destination folder is writable. Keep converted files while the project uses them.
Linux
DaVinci Resolve Studio > Workspace > Scripts > SFX Catalog
- If the panel is missing, check its installation status in SFX Catalog and that both applications run under the same user account. Restart DaVinci Resolve Studio after installation. Utility is a disk folder, not an extra menu item.
- If the panel does not open, check that SFX Catalog itself starts. The Linux launcher stores the path to SFX Catalog: after moving it, reinstall the plugin from its new location. Check the DaVinci Resolve Console for any Python error.
- Only if connection or import fails, check DaVinci Resolve > Preferences > System > General > External scripting. Local may already be enabled; no change is needed if import works. Defaults vary between installations. Network is not required.
- For audio problems, check file access and that FFmpeg and ffprobe are installed. For import, check that a project is open in DaVinci Resolve Studio; for timeline insertion, also check that a timeline is open.
macOS
No supported macOS panel installation is available yet.
- macOS support has not yet been validated. Check this section for supported macOS versions, processors, installation steps and DaVinci Resolve Studio integration when a package is released.
- Do not install the Windows plugin or Linux launcher on macOS.
